Dr. James R. Andrews, MD, is a retired orthopedic surgeon and co-founder of
Andrews Sports Medicine & Orthopaedic Center in Birmingham, Alabama. He
also co-founded the American Sports Medicine Institute (ASMI), a nonprofit
organization dedicated to injury prevention, education, and research in
orthopaedics and sports medicine.

Dr. Andrews is a founding partner and former medical director of the Andrews
Institute in Gulf Breeze, Florida. He also serves as president and chairman of
the board of the Andrews Research & Education Foundation, which focuses on
prevention, education, and research initiatives associated with the Andrews
Institute. In addition, Dr. Andrews was instrumental in developing the
Children’s Health Andrews Institute in Plano, Texas.

He currently serves as chairman of the board and president of Andrews
Medicine in Pensacola, Florida, an organization dedicated to Institute
development and expanding the Andrews brand nationwide.

Throughout his distinguished career, Dr. Andrews served as emeritus medical
director and orthopedic surgeon for Auburn University athletics and as senior
orthopedic consultant for University of Alabama athletes. He has also served on
the Medical and Safety Advisory Committee for USA Baseball and on the board of Little League International Baseball, Inc.

In professional sports, Dr. Andrews served for many years as senior
orthopedic consultant for the Washington Redskins (now the Washington
Commanders), former medical director for the Tampa Bay Rays, and medical
director for the Ladies Professional Golf Association (LPGA).

Although retired from medical practice, Dr. Andrews continues to lead and
direct the Andrews Medicine Company.
